Nady TCM-1050
These are views of my Nady TCM 1050 Tube Microphone comparing it with a famous name brand Tube Microphone. The specs on the two microphones are very very close. Please go to the Nady web page to get the specs on their microphone. The U47 is not manufactured anymore, but a search of the Internet will yield you many sites that have the description and specifications of this famous old microphone. Cosmetically they do look a lot alike and in my opinion Nady has tried to make a mic that is as close as possible in everyway to the U47. The Nady uses a 12AT7 tube that is available today. The U47 has a tube that is no longer manufactured, so if you were to be lucky enough to have one of these microphones, the possibility of having to find a new tube would be a scary thought in the back of your mind. I sure love the way it sounds. I mount it with the screen hanging down but you can mount it anyway you like. The barrel of the Nady is a little longer, because it is a little larger than the other mic, and of course the famous Logo is missing. The shock mounts looks almost exactly the same. It comes with a 30 foot 7 conductor cable and a control box, where you can select from 9 different position, a spider mount, foam wind screen and a very nice metal flight case. Of course the famous one costs almost 10 times more $$$$$. I am not an audio engineer, but I bet most people could not tell the difference on the air running in the same room, with the same EQ and transmitter.
