The New Sheriff in Town

Heil Pr-40

This is my new microphone the Heil Pr-40 Dynamic microphone. It is an excellent microphone for use in amateur radio. It has a great dynamic range and a mid to high frequency sparkle and clarity that other dynamic microphones don't have. I can put it directly into my rig and put the rig in the narrow mode, with the rig compressor for DXing, or run it into the rack and it is a smooth broadcast quality microphone. It is well suited for ham shacks with a lot of ambient noise. It is sensitive, but not so that it amplifies that unwanted sound. It is mounted here in a Electo-Voice 309A shock mount with the Popless VAC-re20 pop filter. Both work perfectly with the microphone.
